The Lothian region of Scotland is made up of the three counties of East Lothian, Midlothian, and West Lothian, the principal city in the region being Edinburgh. It is one of the most populous areas of Scotland and easily the most economically diverse. As a Lothian resident, you are fully aware of all of the exciting opportunities in the region.
At Middlegate, the opportunities we are most interested in relate to alcohol and drug treatment. We focus on these opportunities because it is what we care about. As an experienced organisation offering services to addicts and their families, we make a point of keeping track of all of the treatments and providers in Lothian. If there is a treatment out there, we know about it.
We want to help you if you or a loved one is struggling with drugs or alcohol. To that end, we operate a 24-hour helpline staffed by caring and trained counsellors. A phone call or e-mail is all it takes to get the help you need. Best of all, it costs you nothing. Our services are free and totally confidential.
You Are Not Alone
We have learned many things during our years of service to Lothian. For example, we have learned how common it is for addicts and substance abusers to mistakenly believe they are all alone. They feel as though no one understands their problems; they feel as though no one really knows what it is like to be in their shoes. Would you trust us when we say that is not true? We know because we help people just like you every single day.
There are plenty of other people dealing with the same drug and alcohol-related problems you are struggling with. Some of them have even gone on to complete treatment and become the counsellors and support staff working at the clinics in Lothian. You could very well seek treatment with one of our partners only to discover your counsellor used to be struggling with the exact same problems. The truth is that you are not alone.
All across Lothian there are rehab clinics, charities and other treatment providers ready and waiting to come alongside you. The truth is there is help available to anyone who genuinely wants it. If you are tired of living as a prisoner to drugs or alcohol, you can get treatment right away.
What We Do
Our primary mission at Middlegate is to help you assess the seriousness of your current drug or alcohol problem for the purposes of referring you to appropriate treatment. We work with both private clinics and public service providers, so we have treatment options available for any budget. When you contact us, we will assess your situation and recommend treatments accordingly.
Please note that Middlegate is an experienced referral organisation. This means we are not tied to a single clinic or other treatment provider. We are free to refer our clients to the treatment options most suitable for their individual circumstances.
